If on the second day we visited Ohrid lake from the Albanian side, now it’s time to explore the North Macedonian one.
The town of Ohrid is situated on the shores of Lake Ohrid. It’s part of Unesco sites for its natural and cultural heritage. Ohrid is home to the oldest Slav monastery, dedicated to St. Pantelejmon and more than 800 Byzantine-style icons of worldwide fame dating from the 11th century to the end of the 14th century. The distinctive nature conservation values of Lake Ohrid, with a history dating from pre-glacial times, represent a superlative natural phenomenon.
The day will be dedicated to Ohrid where we will visit Samuel’s Fortress, St. Clement’s Monastery, Monastery St. Naum Ohridski in Ohrid, Cathedral Church H. Sofija, The monastery St. John Kaneo etc.
